How do you deal with spam in Outlook Express used to collect emails from Yahoo?

express spam filter

Yahoo effectively filters spam but something happens in the process of transferring to Outlook Express. I assume Outlook collects all filtered and unfiltered emails. Is there a way of not collecting the filtered ones?

the short answer is NO, when you pull mail from a POP box (yahoo) it retrieves ALL mail….
YOu can goto RULEs in outlook and kinda create your own filter, but it won’t be nothing as good as yahoos…….

Outlook Express does not have any spam control fuctions built into it. You can however create filters and add senders to the blocked list.

There are other e-mail programs like thunderbird that you can train up to block spam with little more then a click of a button and it is very good.

For Outlook Express I use Mailwasher Free..you can get it from
This reads all emails at the server & allows you to see & to blacklist, bounce back, or delete emails before they are downloaded on to your computer
